The transition to listening to musical material required a slight readjustment, which amounted to a decrease in the subwoofer volume to equalize the tonal balance. The sound of the bass guitar pleased with elasticity and clarity down to the lowest notes, and the double bass recordings showed the true depth of the bass, at the same time demonstrating the seamless docking of the speakers with the subwoofer. On rock music and metal, the fast work of the rhythm section was not a problem for the SB-1000 – individual notes and beats were clearly audible without trying to mix everything into a single, unintelligible and booming mess, which many subwoofers of the lower and middle price categories sin.
Even at a low crossover frequency and on music that does not contain pronounced bass notes, the presence of a subwoofer in the system and its quality is felt quite well. When listening to acoustic music or vocals, it is quite possible to feel how much fuller and richer the lower notes become, as well as how much more realistic the scale and size of sound images are conveyed.

This subwoofer can be called a musical subwoofer, and with due attention to setting up, you can get seamless integration with both floor standing and bookshelf speakers.

SVS SB-1000 proved to be quite a universal solution, for the role of which it was originally chosen. Perhaps it will not be an exaggeration to say that in this price category and standard size, the developers have approached the maximum possible. The subwoofer delivers high-quality sound in both music and cinema modes, while providing sound pressure and bass depth comparable to significantly larger models.
If you approach the issue of quality very meticulously, perhaps you could get a little more musicality or a little more power, but in this case the scales would tilt in one direction or another. Now we have a good balance.
I liked the design of the SVS SB-1000: it does not look flashy, but modern, and, by the way, it is assembled very high quality. Unless the blue LED will cut someone’s eyes especially sensitive to this part of the spectrum.
