Unlike previous generations of consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are full-fledged home entertainment combines. A modern console can not only run games and read DVDs – it recognizes USB drives, connects to a home network and has access to clients of popular streaming services.

Unlike most smart TVs and conventional media players, the console has much more powerful and high-quality hardware, so it is not plagued by problems like a slow interface, format restrictions, or weak Wi-Fi. In this article, we’ll focus on the PlayStation 4 as the more common one, but much of what follows applies to the Xbox One as well.

Unfortunately, the official PlayStation Music application in Russia is not available (as well as Spotify, with which it is integrated), so you will not find a separate player in the menu. But that doesn’t mean she can’t fill the living room with music. Of course, you should not expect audiophile quality from a $400 multifunctional device, but the sound is still quite decent for this price range.
