Sony announces the first Android 12-based Walkman

Sony has unveiled the new NW-A300 and NW-ZX700  series Walkman media players running Android 12 with music streaming support. Both series use AI-assisted DSEE Ultimate technology to faithfully restore the original audio quality that is often lost in the audio compression process.

With DSEE Ultimate, media players deliver high-quality sound even when playing via Bluetooth or using streaming services. According to the company, the Walkman NW-ZX700 series uses the same high-quality components as the flagship WM1 model, including FTCAP3 high-capacity polymer capacitors, an oxygen-free copper block housing, large coils, and high-quality gold-filled solder.
The specifications of the Walkman NW-ZX700 series include the high-performance S-Master HX digital amplifier, which reduces distortion and noise over virtually the entire frequency range, and the DSD remastering engine, which losslessly converts PCM audio to DSD at 11.2 MHz. Thanks to this, the player guarantees a spacious rich sound with clear high frequencies and powerful bass.
The NW-ZX700 product line includes one model NW-ZX707 with 64 GB flash memory, 5-inch HD LCD (1280 × 720 dots), Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ ac and Bluetooth 5.0. On board there is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, a slot for microSD memory cards.
The device provides sound reproduction in the frequency range of 20–40,000 Hz. The battery capacity is sufficient for offline operation up to 22 hours. The dimensions of the NW-ZX707 player are 72.5 × 16.9 × 132.3 mm, weight – 227 g. Body color – black.
Walkman NW-A300 series players are equipped with a 3.6-inch LCD display. The series includes two models: NW-A307 with 64 GB flash memory and NW-A306 with 32 GB flash drive. The players support Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless data transmission protocols. The body measures 56.5 x 11.8 x 98.4mm and weighs about 113g. The Walkman NW-A300 is available in grey, blue and black.
