Dark Rolls-Royce Cullinan completes the Black Badge series
The Cullinan Black Badge is described as “the boldest and darkest Rolls-Royce”, “King of the Night”. The paintwork is hand applied and polished in ten steps. The Spirit of Ecstasy figurine is available in high-gloss black chrome. The RR badge is now silver-black.
The Black Badge lineup launched in 2016 with the Wraith and Ghost and was joined by the Dawn convertible in 2017. Today, the Cullinan crossover has completed the formation of the family. Following the black mark tradition, the engine has undergone a boost: now the V12 6.75 paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission produces 600 hp. (+29) and 900 N • m (+50). There was no need to modify the motor since the increase was originally incorporated in it. The components and suspension settings have been changed, as well as the exhaust system. The brakes engage earlier, pedal travel is reduced, and brake disc ventilation is improved.
All chrome parts (from the grille to the exhaust pipes) are darkened. The new 22-inch alloy wheels are reserved exclusively for the Cullinan Black Badge. Red brake calipers are used for the first time on the model.
The interior is finished with a new Technical Carbon material with “exposed carbon fiber weave” for a three-dimensional effect. Each sheet (there are 23 here) is covered with six layers of varnish, left alone for 72 hours, and then polished by hand. The process takes 21 days.
The yellow inserts in the interior are the new Forge Yellow leather color that has joined the collection of the brand.
Starlight Headliner combines a thin black leather with 1344 fiber optic threads and features eight shooting stars. The finishing touch is the infinity sign, located on the rear seatbacks, under the analog clock on the dash, as well as on the sills.
