Mutants have been in the MCU for a very long time.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has revealed a new Marvel mutant and revealed fresh details about the history of these superhumans in the MCU.

The main villain in the Black Panther sequel (spoilers below) is Namor (Tenoch Huerta), the ruler of the underwater kingdom of Talokan. Namor wanted to declare war on the surface world, because he believed that humanity could harm his people. Eventually, Shuri (Letitia Wright) as the new Black Panther and her allies stop Namor, forcing him to surrender.

Even before the final battle, Namor tells Shuri the story of his people. Namor’s parents and their tribesmen were human. They were given superpowers and blue skin by a magical herb, like the “heart-shaped herb” from Wakanda. Namor’s mother was pregnant at the time of the reincarnation. As a result, Namor was born, as he himself told Shuri, a mutant.

Namor is the only Talokan with pointy ears and normal skin. Namor can breathe both on land and in water. Other Talokans cannot enter the surface world without a special mask. In addition, Namor can fly using his ankle wings and has superhuman strength.

Namor has eternal youth and has been living in the world for more than 500 years. This means mutants have been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a long time. Maybe somewhere in the world of Marvel hiding members of the X-Men. In the series She-Hulk: Lawyer, it was just hinted that in the reality of the cinematic universe there is a Wolverine. Since Namor survived at the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, he may cross paths with other mutants, such as Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), who turned out to be a mutant in her solo movie.
