Ferrari F8 Tributo 2020
First, in 2009, the Ferrari 458 Italia appeared, then, six years later, it was turned into the 488 GTB model . And now … The long-awaited new car? Unfortunately no. The company decided to change traditions and continued to modernize the old supercar. Moreover, in fact, the Ferrari F8 Tributo coupe is a “disguised” special version of the 488 Pista , which debuted a year ago.
The V8 3.9 biturbo engine migrated to the Tributo without any changes at all and develops the same 720 hp. and 770 Nm. That is, the specific return is 185 forces per liter of working volume. The seven-speed preselective “robot” remained the same. In other words, the base version of the mid-engined Ferrari now has the same powertrain as the top modification of the previous generation.
Also, the new coupe inherited a set of electronic add-ons from the Pista version. This is the SSC (Side Slip Control) control assistant in version 6.1 instead of 6.0 for the Pista model, as well as the FDE (Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer) system with the Plus prefix, which individually regulates the pressure in the brake mechanisms based on instantaneous movement parameters and allows you to more accurately dose deceleration before the attack turns.
A key feature of the Tributo model is a new design and 10% improved aerodynamic efficiency. The front air intake of the S-Duct is larger than before, and the new LED headlights are smaller than before, allowing additional air ducts to be placed above them to cool the brakes, which are also larger.
The transparent engine cover now has “gills” for more efficient heat dissipation. The stern has been completely redesigned: mid-engined Ferraris have returned to the scheme with four round lights instead of two, the shape of the spoiler has been changed. All interior elements are new, but the basic layout of the front panel is the same. And the main innovation is a seven-inch touch screen media system in front of the passenger.
Carbon fiber and other ultra-light materials are not as widely used in the Tributo as they are in the Pista coupe. Therefore, the dry weight of the novelty is greater: 1330 kg instead of 1280 kg. Although compared with the outgoing base coupe Ferrari 488 GTB, the new car has become 40 kg lighter. Therefore, the dynamic parameters are also “in the middle of the range”. Ferrari F8 Tributo can accelerate to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds compared to 3.0 seconds for the previous coupe and 2.85 seconds for the Pista version. Acceleration to 200 km / h takes 7.8 seconds, while the Ferrari 488 GTB does it in 8.3 seconds, and the Pista in 7.6 seconds. The maximum speed is over 340 km/h.
The first public display of the Ferrari F8 Tributo coupe will take place at the Geneva Motor Show, and sales, as the company has traditionally, will begin in the second half of the year. And a completely new mid-engined supercar is still around the corner: a car with the code F173 should be shown in May, and it will have a hybrid drive and be positioned half a step above the Tributo model.
