Fast & Furious 10 filming pisses off Los Angeles residents

They’re going to stage a protest to shame Universal for supporting dangerous street racing.

The Fast & Furious 10 team has angered the people of Los Angeles with their plans to film a street racing scene in the city. The city council promised to organize a protest right during the filming.

Vin Diesel hinted in early August that the main filming process for Fast and Furious 10 was over . It looks like the team didn’t actually shoot all the scenes. According to Variety, on Friday, August 26, the crew will travel to Los Angeles to shoot an action scene at the home of Dominic Toretto (Diesel), located at 722 East Kensington Road. In the scene at Toretto’s house something hard will happen – there will be emergency workers and a lot of smoke.

Residents of Los Angeles are concerned about the constant noise and the fact that the city has experienced an increase in fatal traffic accidents over the past few years. Street races are often held in the city, which leads to sad consequences. And many motorists simply violate the rules of the road and exceed the speed limit. According to local residents, because of the filming of Fast and Furious 10, the situation will only worsen. Here is a statement from a Los Angeles City Council spokesman

“If filming in Angelino Heights or any other area is approved, then we will organize a large-scale protest and invite reporters to film us. We will be protesting to honor the memory of the 178 people who have lost their lives due to street racers in Los Angeles. And also to shame Universal for their callous disregard for this deadly street racing epidemic that their films have started and continue to promote.”

Speaking to Variety, some residents of Angelino Heights noted that one day of filming the new Fast and Furious does not capture the whole problem of the area and the city as a whole. According to them, the franchise has long had a huge impact on Los Angeles, inspiring street racers to reckless acts.

Recall that the world premiere of the film “Furious 10” is expected on May 19, 2023.
