Dua Lipa released a video for the song “Dance the Night” from the movie “Barbie

The film will also feature a cover of “Barbie Girl” by Aqua and tracks by Nicki Minaj and Ryan Gosling.

Dua Lipa presented the song “Dance the Night”, included in the soundtrack of the film “Barbie”. Together with her, the singer released a retro-futuristic video in which Margot Robbie, who played the role of Barbie, appeared.

In addition to Robbie, other Barbie actresses can be seen in Dance the Night – Sexual Education star Emma Mackie, Issa Rae, and director Greta Gerwig. Dua Lipa herself also starred in the film – she will appear in the form of a Barbie mermaid.

Lipa co-wrote “Dance the Night” with Mark Ronson, Caroline Eileen, and Andrew Wyatt. She has worked with Ronson on the tracks “IDGAF” and “Electricity”, and with Eileen on the songs “New Rules”, “Don’t Start Now”, “Pretty Please” and “Fever”.

The premiere of the film “Barbie” will take place on July 21, on the same day the album with the soundtrack will be released, curated by the same Mark Ronson. In addition to Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, Ava Max, Lizzo, Charli XCX, Ice Spice, Tame Impala, The Kid Laroi, Fifty Fifty and Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken, took part in his recording. For Gosling, this is not their first musical experience: back in 2007, he founded the rock band Dead Man’s Bones, and also sang in some films with his participation – “Valentine” and “La La Land”.

Many movie fans were worried about the question of whether the most famous song about the legendary doll, “Barbie Girl” Aqua, will sound in “Barbie”. The Aqua manager initially said that this would not happen, but that seems to have changed. “Barbie Girl” will be on the soundtrack, only not in the original version, but under the name “Barbie World” performed by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice – and featuring Aqua.

Dua Lipa’s latest album Future Nostalgia was released three years ago, in March 2020 – by the way, there is a reference to its cover in the Dance the Night video. Now the singer is working on her third record, where, according to rumors, you can hear Mick Jagger from The Rolling Stones and Tame Impala. Dua Lipa also starred in another film – “Argyle” by Matthew Vaughn, where Henry Cavill and Bryce Dallas Howard became her partners on the set. Also recently, the singer entered the list of the richest residents of Britain under 35 years old.
