If the Chevrolet brand performed live at CES 2022, then the Cadillac brand got the role of an online support group. The new Cadillac InnerSpace concept car has been virtually unveiled to showcase what luxury personal transportation will be like in the coming age of self-driving cars.

InnerSpace is a long, squat coupe with a two-seat interior and a large trunk. There is no information about the electric drive, because all attention is paid to the interior decoration. Hinged doors lead to the cabin, but for ease of landing, the roof panel also rises, and there are deep cutouts in the thresholds.

The windshield is just a tribute to automotive tradition, because it is half covered by a huge curved media system display (on SMD LEDs) with Ultifi’s own software based on the Linux operating system. There are no familiar controls at all: it is understood that the Cadillac InnerSpace drives in a completely autonomous mode.

For riders, there is a real sofa with side armrests, albeit divided into two halves that pivot towards the doors for easy entry and exit. The set includes pillows, blankets, slippers and a retractable footrest – everything for a serene pastime during the trip. To keep the cabin quiet, the concept is equipped with special Goodyear tires with reduced noise levels.

Of course, this is just a fantasy for now. But still more mundane than last year’s virtual Cadillac concepts – the six-seat SocialSpace wheeled shuttle and the single-seat PersonalSpace aircraft. Together with them, the new InnerSpace forms the Cadillac Halo Concept Portfolio family. And later the company will also show a cozy OpenSpace lounge.
