Beyone releases first album in six years RENAISSANCE
Featuring Jay-Z, Skrillex and Drake.
Beyonce’s new album RENAISSANCE is out, her first studio effort in six years. The recording material was attended by Jay-Z, Skrillex, Drake and Grace Jones.
The sound of the disc differs from the usual style of the singer – this time she went into dance music. This is only the first part of a grandiose project – the title is subtitled “Act 1”. Moreover, the day before the release, Beyoncé confirmed rumors that the RENAISSANCE project would be a trilogy.
The track list included 16 songs, including the lead single “Break My Soul”, which entered the top 10 charts in many countries, including the US and the UK. The album can be listened to on the singer’s YouTube channel.
The album received rave reviews from critics. Portal The Line of Best Fit named it one of Beyoncé’s best albums: in his opinion, the artist released “progressive, rule-breaking music that clashes with time” . Edition I called the singer “a master of musical curation” and the album itself “a magnificent tribute to the underground and underestimated culture of black people . ” A similar point of view from The Telegraph is “an exhilarating tribute to the club music of the 1980s and 1990s” . The Guardian described the record as “unabashedly escapist” and “a joyful summer soundtrack for pretty girls” .
“RENAISSANCE” currently tops the iTunes charts in 53 countries and the Apple Music charts in 75 countries. The single “BREAK MY SOUL” and two more tracks from the album – “I’M THAT GIRL” and “COZY” have already got there.
